APS provides diagnosis and procedure coding audits for our clients.  These audits serve several purposes, however the most important is that they form an integral part of the compliance plan for our clients.  The audit is an external review of the coding practices of the organization and is often incorporated into the compliance plan of the practice.  In addition, APS provides guidance as to:

                    • Missed coding opportunities

                    • Expected vs. actual documented
                      procedures

                    • Systematic mismatches between
                      diagnosis and procedure

The audits are performed by certified professional coders experienced in the specialty being audited, and familiar with the practice and its policies.
