APS is currently providing billing services for more than 230 Pathology Departments throughout the United States, varying in size from single physicians to large university/academic-staffed pathologist departments. As one of the first companies to bill the professional component of clinical laboratory services, APS was often in the position of leading processes in the industry where such billing had not previously been performed. We have been in the forefront of professional clinical pathology billing for many of our clients for many years. Additionally, APS staff members are frequently asked to make presentations to professional groups on topics of pathology coding, reimbursement and the proper treatment of the professional component of clinical pathology activity.

APS is a consistent advocate and supporter of efforts taken by CAP and the APF to address issues of concern to professional pathology practices and has undertaken analyses to support positions taken by those groups with relation to issues of public policy.
